Rent a boat in Mallorca to discover its most beautiful beaches!

Discover the Balearics by renting a boat is a unique experience and Mallorca is perfect for a sailing holiday.

The largest of the islands that belong to the Balearic archipelago offers landscapes rich in contrasts, from rocky coves to sandy beaches, from clear sea to lush vegetation that laps the sea, contrasts that make Mallorca a unique paradise for sea lovers and to organize a sailing holiday.

And renting a boat in Mallorca gives you a fun holiday! You can sunbathe lulled by the waves in front of one of its sandy beaches and full of life, or drop anchor in front of one of its many exclusive caves and coves to explore its depths: Mallorca in fact offers more than 300 beaches to choose from. .

The sea is the distinctive feature of this island, in the south white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, in the north rocky and wilder beaches: in its 550 km of coastline from one side to the other, the island really satisfies everyone.

The south-east coast is where the equipped and served beaches abound.

The Bay of the capital, Palma, offers everything, not only can you visit its historic center to get to know La Seu, the Gothic cathedral refurbished by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudì, but also the restaurants and terraces and the many shops and patisseries where to be able to try the typical sweet of Mallorca, the Ensaìmada. The Ensaìmada de Mallorca is a 14-hour leavened dough preparation filled with lard, (it is somewhat reminiscent of puff pastry), has the shape of a spiral and is found almost everywhere in the pastry shops in the center of Palma. To taste.

Starting from Palma and sailing east, you will find perfect places for an unforgettable sailing holiday in Mallorca: Cala Pi, Cala d'Or, Portocolon and Es Trenc just to name a few.

1. A few miles by boat from Palma is Cala Pi, a beach of fine white sand, surrounded by pine trees (from which it takes its name) and rocky ridges about thirty meters high and which, seen from the sea, offers a wonderful spectacle. Little frequented due to the difficulty of being reached from the ground, it is located at the end of a narrow and long inlet, a jewel of nature ideal for snorkeling.

2. There are five beaches that go by the name of Cala d'Or, a popular tourist area on the island. Cala d’Or in fact, which gives its name to the whole area, is a beach of soft and white sand, with shallow and calm water. Cala Serena, on the other hand, is the wildest of the five beaches in this area, a sandy bay surrounded by rock walls. Cala Ferrera, adjacent to Cala Serena, is more served and decidedly less wild, with its turquoise waters it is perfect for snorkeling and exploring the seabed. Cala Esmeralda, its name says it all about the color of its waters, a tiny beach with a calm and peaceful sea. Cala Gran Beach, white sand and turquoise sea, is the largest of the beaches of Cala d'Or, well served.

3. Portocolom was a typical and charming fishing village, which owes its name to the navigator Christopher Columbus. An area of Mallorca much appreciated by tourists, and admiring it from the sea the foreshortening is like a postcard: the village of Es Riueto which retains the ancient charm of the small fishermen's houses all painted in bright colors and each with its own small pier, the lighthouse of Portocolom and the Dragon Caves. We cannot forget the beaches of this area such as the worldly Cala Marcal, S’Arenal, S’Algar and Cala Sa Nau.

4. The postcard image par excellence is the Playa de Es Trenc, crystal clear waters with a thousand shades of blue in contrast with the white sand, surrounded by sandy dunes and low vegetation, typical of the Mediterranean scrub. Es Trenc is in a natural park which has protected it from the construction of houses and villages, and therefore retains its wild and natural aspect. A real charm.

The north and north-east coasts are often beaten by the Tramontana wind, rocks overlooking the sea modeled by the north wind that open onto small coves and wide beaches such as those of Alcudia or Pollenca, which we talked about in the last article:

A spectacle of nature surrounded as it is by steep rocks and overlooking the sea. Cala Coll Baix is one of the beaches that deserve to be visited, among the most beautiful in Mallorca.

3. To the north of Mallorca, Playa de Formentor is located in the Peninsula of Cap de Formentor, a beach of fine white sand about ten kilometers long and narrow, completely surrounded by nature, with vegetation that almost touches the sea. A crystalline sea with colors ranging from blue to turquoise.

4. At the foot of the highest peak of the Balearic archipelago, the Puig Major is the solitary bay of Cala Tuent, a pebble and gravel beach surrounded by nature and bathed by clean, deep blue waters. Difficult to access by land, it is perfect for a boat trip to Mallorca. The cove is not equipped with services nor is it equipped, but you can admire the true wild nature of the island in all its splendor.
